I just got back from vacation and I read The Post article on the woman being allegedly raped on Court Street and saw that all the bystanders could do was stand by and take pictures of the incident for Instagram and Twitter.
I was at first disgusted because no one did anything to help the woman in distress.
Although it’s not illegal to take pictures out in public and to post on social media, it is illegal to incite a riot, which the bystanders were probably doing by egging the guy on.
And to add insult to injury, neither APD or OUPD dispatchers or students knew anything happened on Saturday when I questioned them Tuesday. I had thought that there were campus wide and citywide alerts but from a source at the APD, there’s not. Right now, I’m not pleased and this is from a male’s perspective.
