Beauty and the Bobcat: Third time is the charm with new rosy palette

It’s an exciting time for all of the beauty buffs out there. Urban Decay just released their Naked 3 palette and it is insanely gorgeous.

I’ve written before about how I love my Urban Decay Naked palette, which features bronze-hued shades, but I am terrible at effectively applying it. Because of my frustration with Naked, I was never inclined to purchase its successor, Naked 2, which boasts taupe-hued shades. However after seeing the colors Naked 3 has to offer, I can’t wait to purchase it.

Naked 3 contains 12 rose-hued shades which are just beautiful. I love rose gold jewelry, and bringing that trend into makeup is so exciting. I haven’t actually purchased the palette yet, because I can’t even afford to feed myself at the moment, but the holidays are coming up and it will definitely be on my Christmas list.

Another reason why I didn’t purchase the Naked 2 was because I thought the colors were too similar to the first palette, and that it wasn’t worth the $52. However, Naked 3 has a completely new variety of shades—both matte and shimmery—that differ from the neutrality that the first two palettes had, yet don’t stray too far from the “naked” look.

Being one of the most popular palettes in the makeup world, and having been duped countless times by nearly every brand, I’m happy to see Urban Decay adding on to their natural-toned repertoire with this gorgeous rose-hued collection.

While I don’t actually have the palette yet, I’ve spent a lot of time staring at photos and swatches of it online, and it appears that Naked 3 has a bigger mirror than the previous versions. The packaging also seems more advanced than that of the first Naked, which came in a felt-covered box. The Naked 3 comes in a sleek plastic box, similar to that of Naked 2, except this one snaps shut to provide ultimate protection for the rosy beauties.

Another thing that differs from the other two Naked palettes is that this one comes with a sampling of all four of Urban Decay’s eye shadow primer potions: Original, Eden (a nude matte), Sin (a shimmer) and Anti-Aging. The previous palettes came with a mini bottle of the primer potion, which lasted me a great while, and I think I’d prefer that to the small samples which come with the Naked 3.

However, this palette does come with a double-sided brush, one end flat and one end fluffy for blending. I actually have never used the brush that came with my Naked, but this one seems a lot more versatile and it has gotten a lot of good reviews online.

If you have yet to check out the Naked 3 palette, I would do so ASAP. I’m sure you’ll have the same love-at-first-sight experience that I had. This much-anticipated palette is now available on UrbanDecay.com for $52, and will hit shelves in Sephora and Ulta in December.
