This is an open letter to all students and faculty:
Please contact Ohio University President Roderick McDavis and support my recent pleas to improve WOUB’s reception of PBS programs. Currently, and for the past months, WOUB only shows “no signal” or “signal scrambled” on its site.
I’ve asked McDavis three times to please fix whatever problems the campus TV station has to give us back our former WOUB. I don’t know if the current directors and staff know or don’t know how to fix the lack of reception, or whatever the problem is, that makes its antenna unreceptive.
WOUB supplies its viewer area the only TV they can get. Time Warner TV is just too expensive for poor folks. Their children are missing out from the valuable programs they could be experiencing. And McDavis doesn’t seem to care, for he hasn’t lifted his little finger to fix WOUB TV.
In other words, students of my alma mater, the guy is out of touch with our area’s people. That’s not “presidential” conduct. Perhaps Roderick should move on to another job?
