Police looking for leads on Athens County thefts

All of the crimes of the month are thefts in Athens County.

Law enforcement officers from the Athens Police Department and the Athens County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a series of thefts that occurred in the past few months.

All incidents have been listed on Athens County Crime Solvers Anonymous Crimes of the Month for December.

The Athens Police Department is looking for information related to the following two crimes.

On Oct. 26, an unknown individual forcibly entered the Athens County EMS building at 564 W. Union St. between the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 3:10 a.m.

The individual went through several areas of the building, and stole personal belongings and tools, the release said.

The medical building alone wasn’t experiencing thefts.

Instead of little league games filling the seats at Jaycee Fields on W. State St., three thefts have occurred there in the last two months, according to the release

According to the release, the storage shed was broken into during each theft. 

Between Oct. 22 and Nov. 4, the shed was forcibly entered and a Kubota utility vehicle was stolen.

The second theft occurred between Nov. 8 and 10, and the small four-wheeler was stolen.

The last theft occurred around Nov. 17, and a zero-turn lawn mower was stolen.

The Athens County Sheriff’s Office requests any information related to a rash of thefts in Coolville.

On Nov. 3, Four separate campers were broken into at Ketchum’s Campground located at 28584 Rock Run Rd., Coolville.

Electronics, jewelry, and rechargeable tools were stolen, the release said.
