OUPD sees fourth report of rape this semester

A female Ohio University student reported to OU police Monday that she was raped earlier this year, according to police reports.

That report was the fourth report of rape OUPD received during the Fall Semester of 2014. The female was assaulted by an unknown male in August.

According to the report, a welfare check was conducted on a female student by OUPD. The female later told the police she had been raped in August by an unknown male, but did not want to continue any further in the investigation.

The case is currently labeled as inactive.

The most recent report of rape was relayed to OUPD on Nov. 25, and stemmed from an incident that allegedly happened three years ago, according to a previous Post article.

According to the OUPD report, a female said she was raped in Shively Hall by a “known assailant” in Sept. 2011. The case is still under investigation.
