The department made its first arrest of the semester for such a crime.
Brian L. Goody, 40, was arrested Sunday night after a female Ohio University student filed a report accusing him of sexual imposition, raising the number of sex-related crimes this semester to four.
The incident occurred on the ground floor of Foster House on South Green, according to a report from Ohio University Police Department.
After further investigation, an arrest warrant was issued, and Goody was taken into custody. He was then transported to Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
He was set to appear in Athens Municipal Court Tuesday morning.
Goody remained in jail with a bond set at $2,500 as of press time. Goody’s arrest was the first arrest made of the four sex-related reports OUPD received during Spring Semester so far.
The first case of sexual imposition occurred during the first week of Spring Semester on Jan. 15.
According to police reports, three males approached a female OU student walking down Jeff Hill at 12:55 a.m. One male touched her breast and buttocks and all three males followed her back to her East Green dorm, where she shut the door on them.
The next day, OUPD received another report of sexual imposition.

A female OU student reported she was walking north on the sidewalk between South Green Drive and North McKinley Avenue when a white man ran up behind her and touched her buttocks, and quickly ran away from the scene.
The third report took place on Jan. 18, when a female was allegedly raped in Wilson Hall on West Green.
All three reports remain active, according to OUPD’s website.
Additionally, two rape reports were filed during the fall semester and also remain active cases, according to OUPD’s website.
