Three burglaries made the Athens County Crime Solvers Anonymous crimes of the month list for the month of September,  and the Athens Police Department is looking for help for each of the incidents.

Since early June, there have been 39 burglaries, and 26 thefts from motor vehicles in residential neighborhoods, according to the news release sent out by Crime Solvers Anonymous. The perpetrators took items from unlocked vehicles during the day. The burglars took mostly money, jewelry and electronics.

Two businesses were also affected by break-ins this summer.

In the early hours of July 22, someone forcibly entered Courtside Pizza, 85 N. Court St. According to the news release, the perpetrators stole money from a variety of locations within the business.

The report described the individual as a white male in his early to mid-twenties, approximately 6 foot-tall, weighing about 160 pounds, wearing dark clothing and a ball cap.

The latest incident of breaking and entering occurred at TSI Housing, 36 S. Court St. earlier last month.

According to the news release, the criminals entered the business between

11 a.m. on Aug. 1 and 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 3. Those involved were able to get away with money and two laptops.

Cash rewards between $500 and $2,000 are available for anyone who has information on the crimes if the information leads to the arrest or indictment of the person or persons responsible, according to the news release.
