“He was well received last time,” said Andrew Holzaepfel, senior associate director of the Campus Involvement Center. “He’s always heavily requested on our survey.”
Farr was an opener last time he was here.
He made his entrance into the country genre with his hit “Redneck Crazy” and continued to receive airplay on country radio with “A Guy Walks into a Bar” and “Whiskey in my Water.”
Although it’s not Farr’s first time on the MemAud stage, Holzaepfel said he still thinks he’ll draw a large crowd.
In 2013, the singer joined country artists Rodney Atkins and Josh Thompson.
When Farr last played in Athens, he didn’t have any number one hits and was an opener for an opener, Holzaepfel said.
“I would imagine if you asked most people who were there at the concert, they didn’t even know he was there,” he said.
Farr is currently an opening act on Jason Aldean’s Burn it Down tour.
A special guest for the opening act will be announced at a later date, according to the Performing Arts and Concert Series website.
