Student reports voyeurism in Baker Center bathroom to OUPD

The tenth sex-related crime reported to OUPD, the alleged incident is the first to involve someone unknown to the student who reported it.

A male student reported another male watching him in the bathroom to Ohio University Police Department Wednesday.

The alleged incident took place in the first floor Baker Center restroom at 2:15 p.m., where an unknown male watched the student through the crack between the door and wall, according to the OUPD incident report.

The case is classified as voyeurism and is currently under investigation. OUPD has no leads or suspects for the case, the report stated.

The alleged crime is the 10th sex-related crime to be reported to OUPD this semester and the 11th reported to Athens-area law enforcement.

According to an email from OUPD Chief Andrew Powers, all of the first nine alleged sex-related crimes reported to OUPD began as consensual encounters, most involved alcohol, and two involved people who met on the dating app, Tinder. This information excludes the Wednesday voyeurism report.
