Female student reports rape to OU Police Department, marking 20th sex crime of academic year

The female reported the rape occurred 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

Sunday, a female reported to the Ohio University Police Department that a male had raped her at 2 a.m.

According to the police report, the female reported alleged unwanted sexual conduct from a male, who was later identified. The female said the rape occurred on South Green Drive.

The report does not indicate whether or not alcohol was involved, and does not specify whether the suspect knew the victim.

The case is under further investigation, according to the report.

Sunday’s rape marked the fourth sex crime reported to OUPD since the beginning of Spring Semester and the 20th reported to OUPD since the beginning of the Fall Semester.

OUPD received three reports of sex-related crime during the first weekend of Spring Semester, according to a previous Post report.
