Police Blotter: Student found striking bikes with plastic post; officer sees student urinating in front of cruiser

The same OUPD officer arrested two different students he found with vomit on their faces in separate incidents last week, according to police reports.

Two Ohio University Police Department officers on patrol heard a suspicious sound coming from Tanaka Hall at 3 a.m. Friday.

The officers approached to find a student striking bicycles and light posts with a plastic fencing stake, according to the police report.

The student then presented a fake Kentucky driver's license to the officers, according to the report.

An officer arrested the student for criminal mischief and possession of a fake ID.

The report states that the university owned the plastic fencing stake. It lists the university as a victim of the incident.

Same officer, different vomit

On Thursday at about 2 a.m., the officer responded to a call about a student passed out in the landscaping at the front of Boyd Hall, according to a police report.

The officer arrived to find the student facedown in the landscaping, detected a strong smell of alcohol on him and saw vomit on his face and the front of his clothing, according to the report.

The officer arrested the student for disorderly conduct by intoxication and the student was transported to Southeast Ohio Regional Jail, according to the report.

The incident was one of five alcohol-related incidents included in OUPD reports between April 25 and Sunday.

In the other case, the same officer was dispatched to the third floor men's restroom of Treudley Hall just before midnight Friday. He arrived to find an intoxicated student in one of the restroom stalls, according to a police report.

The student smelled strongly of alcohol, and the officer observed vomit on his face and clothes, according to the report.

The officer confiscated a fake Florida driver's license from the student and arrested him for disorderly conduct by intoxication and possession of a fake ID, according to the police report. The student was transported to Southeast Ohio Regional Jail.
