As of May 31, the 12% ABV cap on craft breweries is no more as Ohio Governor John Kasich signed a bill eliminating the cap. This allows small town breweries such as Jackie O's more freedom in creating craft beers. AUSTIN JANNING | FOR THE POST

Celebrate National Drink Beer Day in Athens your favorite way

Yes. It's true. It's National Drink Beer Day

And could there be a better place to celebrate than Athens, Ohio? Well, maybe. But Athens does have more than 20 bars and tradition of drinking to excess, so our little piece of southeast Ohio will definitely do.

Next step: Decide how to celebrate.

You have a few options here, and they sort of depend on how you interpret the name of the day.

If you think Drink Beer Day means you should drink craft beer, you can be like Hillary Clinton and stop by Jackie O's. Alternatively, you could visit the new German beer hall in town or Little Fish Brewing on Armitage Road.

If you think it means you should drink a lot of beer, a student-made smartphone app will tell you which uptown bars have the best deals.

Or, if you're reading this from afar, crack open a cold one and watch the live feed of College Green on OU's website.
