Uptown Eats: Finals week food and fun at Alden

Although the library usually feels like a comfortable 100 degrees this time of year, each floor is filled with frantic students camping out during ungodly hours in hopes of maintaining a somewhat acceptable GPA.

Tired? Angry? Hungry?

Yeah, me too.

Only two more weeks until we can veg out on our couches for a whole month without responsibilities. Only two more weeks of stress. Only two more weeks until our brains get a much-needed break.

Thankfully, Ohio University seems to know these last two weeks can be some of the most taxing, and they’re here to help ease the pain.

From now and continuing into next week, Alden is offering free snacks as well as multiple opportunities to hang out with a therapy dog and lots of other activities to help students relax:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 30 — There will be a therapy dog visit from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by free pizza provided by Phi Beta Kappa from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Thursday, Dec. 1 — I, as the good Insomnia Cookie marketing rep that I am, will be bringing cookies around Alden at 7 p.m. for students looking to stress-eat the pain away.
  • Monday, Dec. 5 — Alden will be providing coffee and donuts at 2 a.m. to keep students fueled and awake.

While you’re in the library wasting away, you might as well enjoy the chance to procrastinate even more and get some free stuff out of it, too.

Good luck and don’t forget to eat some brain food.
