Just as the upcoming holiday season will feature cornucopias and a plethora of food, this week’s Instagram account features a plethora of exotic animals.
Scales and Fur Adoption (@lizardcatfoxlamb), is a temporary foster home and shelter for animals who have been abandoned or need rehomed. It’s located in Florida and serves as a home for many domestic and exotic animals alike.
Quality of Pictures
The pictures on the account are mostly average quality, they appear to be taken on a phone without much attention to composition. However, content for these photos is where the account shines. Rather than just one exotic animal, this account features many different types, so you won’t get bored. Among the members of the foster family include a skunk, an armadillo, a fox and sugar gliders. There are your typical dogs and cats mixed in between the exotic animal posts, but you can find those easily. This account has very rare pet pics, so follow it and add it to your pet Instagram collection.
Regardless of the lackluster composition, the photos on this account are still very cute. You’ll see fluffy chinchillas, sleepy ferrets and smiley foxes. A few videos are included too, so you’ll get to see typically wild animals acting like domesticated pets — which is fun and unsettling at the same time.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the post rate on this account. You won’t see posts for days and then all of a sudden, a burst of more than 10 posts will appear on your timeline. So although the rate is not consistent, you’ll still be getting a lot of exotic content on your feed, which is what you signed up for, right?
Cuteness of Pets
There is not one pet on this account so instead, the collective cuteness of all the pets will have to be rated. The fact that this account documents the journey from these animals being homeless to getting a new home and family is cute enough, but the looks of these pets can’t be ignored either. I personally enjoy the sugar gliders, as I have a soft spot for their big eyes. However, there’s a pet for just about every type of animal lover here so chances are, you’ll find something you like.

Along with the heartwarming story behind the posts, this account has the potential to brighten your day when it suddenly pops out of nowhere with a stream of pictures and videos.
