Athens Police Department fields sexual assault report

A female told an Athens Police Department officer Tuesday night that a male she knew had sexually assaulted her.

According to an APD report, the incident took place on the north side of Athens at about 2 a.m. that morning. The report includes no other information.

APD is investigating the incident.

In December, the Ohio University Police Department received two reports of rape, according to a previous Post report.

On Dec. 27, a female reported that a male acquaintance she met in her room made unwanted sexual advances. She said that he then pinned her down and raped her.

On Dec. 23, a female reported that in late August or early September a white, college-aged male approached her as she walked between Kantner Hall and the Athens City Parking Garage on South College Street, then verbally threatened her and raped her.
