Movie Cats (@moviecats), with more than 57,000 followers, follows the efforts of a man and his black cat who mimic famous scenes from films classics. The owner, Zara, and his cat, Willow, give a behind-the-scenes look at their recreations in their account @casualmoviecats.
Quality of Pictures
Unlike other pet Instagrams, which tend to focus on the aesthetic component of quality, this account’s value lies in the production. Through use of photo editing, costumes and posing, Willow and Zara are transformed into the characters they represent — as depicted in the scene they mimicked from The Shining, where Willow takes the place of Jack Nicholson breaking through a bathroom door. Other scenes include the chest burster scene from Alien, with Willow appearing to burst from Zara’s chest, and the rain-kiss scene from The Notebook, with a wet-looking Willow being lovingly held. Even better, the post descriptions don’t give away the movie titles and instead encourage the commenters to guess where the scene is from.

It appears that an attempt is made to update the account every week, which is understandable given the time that must go into getting proper shots and making edits.
