With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, February is the month for love. What better way to celebrate the holiday than buying buttery popcorn and sitting in movie theater seats? February offers many date-night options, and maybe Cupid will show up and strike some couples with an arrow of love. Here are five movies to check out in February.
Feb. 3:
Feb. 3: Rings — Similar to the original movie of a similar name, the film features a haunting video said to kill whomever watches it in seven days. The film follows Julia, (Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz) who watches the video, so her boyfriend can’t view it. That seems like a great idea — not. As the days progress, freaky things start happening to her and her doom seems unavoidable. As someone who scares easily, this movie looks absolutely frightening. Feb. 10: The LEGO Batman Movie — Will Arnett returns as Batman in The LEGO Batman Movie. In this spin-off of The LEGO Movie, the lonely Batman is forced to raise the orphan he adopted, Robin (Michael Cera), and unite with the city of Gotham to defeat The Joker (Zach Galifianakis). It appears fans of the first movie won’t be disappointed with the sequel.
Feb. 10: Fifty Shades Darker — In the sequel to the hit Fifty Shades of Grey, Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) is haunted by the still-living ex-partners of her boyfriend Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan). Their unusual arrangement in the first movie seems to become more of a relationship in Fifty Shades Darker. This steamy movie is not something you would want to see with your parents, but rather with a significant other or your best friends instead. And if you don’t want to go for the movie, go see it to listen to Taylor Swift and Zayn.
Feb. 24: Rock Dog — As the blatant title suggests, the film is about a dog named Bodi (Luke Wilson) who wants to become a musician despite his father’s wishes to become a guard dog. In the trailer, the father finally lets Bodi go out on his own and pursue his dreams. Even though the movie might be a little mundane
