Pet Instagram Review: Topher and Rosenberg, the man and dog who look and dress alike

Sometimes, through a random cosmic chain of events where the stars are aligned just right, a dog and his or her owner look almost exactly alike.

That cosmic occurrence happened when Topher Brophy got his aussiedoodle named Rosenberg. Both have shaggy brown hair and have a tendency to wear the same clothes. Somewhere along the line, Brophy decided to make an Instagram account (@topherbrophy), which now has more than 100,000 followers.

Each post on the account has a theme, whether it’s tennis, pirate, etc … and Brophy and Rosenberg both dress accordingly. They wear the same outfit — Rosenberg just wears a smaller, dog-sized version.

Quality of Pictures

The photos are professionally taken by Chantal Adair, a photographer who runs the account @thedogstyler. Needless to say, that results in a very aesthetically pleasing set of photos. They appear to be taken in a studio, with proper lighting and different colored backgrounds for each post. The attention to detail is admirable, and it makes me wonder how they found so many identical outfits for both man and dog. Also, the pictures are just generally adorable. Rosenberg appears to be a very patient dog who doesn’t mind being dolled up for the camera. In each photo he’s looking directly at the camera, which must have taken a lot of practice and failed attempts to perfect. Some real creative effort and brainstorming must have gone into choosing all of the different themes that are shown off in this account.

Rate of Posts

This account posts almost every day, with a few lapses here and there. That kind of a post rate is impressive given the sheer amount of outfits and photo sessions these two must have gone through. It takes real dedication to run such a high-quality account that includes fresh content in each post. This is especially impressive given the account has been posting for 30-some weeks.

Cuteness of Pet

Not only is Rosenberg an incredibly patient dog, he is also a very cute one. He shows an eye-catching range of emotions for a dog, and definitely is a natural dog model. He smiles in the lighthearted pictures and gives a pensive gaze in the more introspective ones. It’s not every day that you see such a talented, dedicated pup in the unforgiving world of modeling.

Rating: 5/5

The sheer amount of time and creativity that goes into making this account is made apparent in each post. Every post is something new, completely unrelated from the previous one. And the pleasing, professional photography is the icing on the cake. All aspiring dog models should look here on how to do it right.
