Bow Down: Laverne Cox reveals she is working with Beyoncé on special project

Laverne Cox and Beyoncé are the duo you have been waiting for! During the Orange Is The New Black star’s appearance on Access Hollywood, she casually revealed the jaw-dropping news that Queen Bey has asked her to work on a top secret project. While celebrating her Emmy nomination with the hosts, she also spoke on meeting her idol for the first time at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

“I thought the first time I would meet Beyoncé, I would totally start crying and freak out,” Cox shared. “And I swear to you, a sense of calm comes over you when you meet the queen.”

It is no secret that Laverne is a huge fan of Bey. I mean, who isn’t? In October 2016, the actress paid tribute to Knowles’ former girl group, Destiny’s Child, on Lip Sync Battle with a star-studded performance of “Lose My Breath”.

After, the Lemonade singer expressed her gratitude to Cox for “blessing this world with her slayage” by having flowers delivered to her on the set of her short-lived show, Doubt.

When you are at work on #Doubt your new cbs legal drama premiering in 2017 and get flowers and a hand written card from the Queen Bey herself @beyonce. Thank you Beyonce for such a thoughtful gesture. You didn't have to but it means so much that you did. I am so happy you enjoyed the #LipSyncBattle tribute to Destiny's Child. You know I live for everything you do. EVERYTHING!! Thank you, thank you thank you!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you @dreamadew for thinking to take photos to document my utter shock and disbelief moments after opening the card. Thank you @farmercarla and @theladydeja for holding me up so I didn't fall to the floor as I lost control of my body. Thank you water proof mascara for keeping this makeup in tact cause I have to head back to set soon. Thank you @spikelsb for making this happen Wow, what a day! God is GOOD!!
