Twitter Takeaways: 7 tweets that sum up Welcome Weekend

When it came to welcoming this year’s freshman class, Ohio University was in its purest form.

Everyone is happy to be back in this little bubble of a town. You may have been filled with joy when you heard the Marching 110 play for the first time. You could’ve been overly excited when you grabbed your new lanyard and ventured down Mill Street with your pals. You might have met OU president Duane Nellis or even Pumpkin, the Board of Elections cat, to celebrate being back.

From move-in to Convocation, here are seven tweets that help sum up what Welcome Weekend was like for students and community members in Athens.

Most students started coming to campus Thursday, and they were greeted by some friendly faces.

Freshmen students got to make Athens their home.

After moving into their dorms, students ventured to Mill Street, Court Street and beyond.

The weekend wrapped up with Convocation and the involvement fair.

It feels good to be back.
