Parents Weekend is upon us, which means Court Street will be teeming with students and their parents. Every place will be packed whether you go to the shops, eateries or bars. If you’re looking for a good place to unwind, have a drink and not be surrounded by swarms of people, go to these bars and enjoy a drink with your parents.
Athens Uncorked, 14 Station St. — People can grab a seat at Uncorked and enjoy a glass of wine. The winery has flights available to taste different types of wine. Uncorked is open from 4 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Little Fish Brewing Company, 8675 Armitage Drive — The microbrewery will be open from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday. The outdoor seating is a perk of this bar. If the weather warrants it, people can enjoy a brew in the nice weather.
Jackie O’s Taproom and Production Brewery, 25 Campbell St. — Most people are familiar with the Jackie O’s on Union Street. But for those looking to get the same draft beers without the hustle and bustle, check out the taproom and production brewery. Open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., the brewery is the best place to start the day. The 12 oz. draft beers range in prices from $3 to $8.
West End Cider House, 234 W. Washington St. — This establishment offers a menu full of ciders, wine, cocktails and liquor. The cozy environment is a nice place to relax and talk with those accompanying you. Cider House is open from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
Devil’s Kettle, 97 Columbus Road — The brewery offers in-house beers and drinks. The bar is open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, so it’s a great place to day drink and enjoy dinner.
