Netflix cuts more than just shows this October; they cut my soul

Someone hold me.

Netflix announced the new TV shows and movies that will be added in October, but the cuts aren't just something that's digging into the vault of great Netflix shows. The cuts have destroyed my soul.

Starting on Oct. 1, different shows will disappear from Netflix — 30 Rock, One Tree Hill and The Wonder Years, to name a few.

But there are a few shows that have been cut which punched my heart specifically. My favorite shows are leaving Netflix, maybe for good. And right now, that sucks.

First, Malcolm In The Middle will leave, as will Prison Break on the first day of the month.

Malcolm In The Middle was a part of the fabric of my childhood and show that I watched for years. It remains one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.

Prison Break was one of the most captivating shows I've ever seen. It still remains one of my favorite shows ever, something that I even got my family into.

Family Guy will have seasons 9-14 cut, too, which isn't horrific. It's unconstitutional. I'm all for classic Family Guy episodes, but the newer ones are classics in their own right.

All of this would be bad, if it weren't for the cutting of the greatest TV show of all time: Friday Night Lights.

The show will be removed on Oct. 1, along with it the hopes and dreams of Americans everywhere. I started watching in fourth grade when it was on NBC, and I've watched all five seasons no less than three times since then.

I've tried to get friends into the show — and the ones that have, mostly immediately fell in love.

Now all of my favorite childhood shows are leaving Netflix in a short time. So yeah, there will still be shows that I like on Netflix, and if I feel so inclined, I can buy a DVD or something. Or, what's more likely, I'll just switch to Hulu.

Right now, though, most of my favorite shows that I grew up with are off Netflix. And that kind of sucks.
