7 movies you can’t miss during Freeform’s 13 Nights of Halloween

Today marks the first day of Freeform’s 13 Night’s of Halloween. Arguably, this is second best television event all year, next to 25 Days of Christmas. Here are seven spooky movies airing between now and Halloween that you definitely don’t want to miss.

And in case you want even more spookiness, here is the full schedule of all 13 Nights of Halloween.

The Addams Family

Nothing will get you in the Halloween spirit quite like the original spooky family. The 1991 film adaptation of '60s TV series might just inspire you to dress up like Wednesday for the block party. You’ll have plenty of chances to watch The Addams Family and Addams Family Values.

Both films air Oct. 19-22, 24, 25, 27, 28 and 30.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

This one is rare because it can be watched both for Halloween and Christmas. And of course, Tim Burton is the uncontested king of spooky. You earn an extra piece of Halloween candy if you resist the urge to sing along to “This is Halloween.”

The Nightmare Before Christmas airs Oct. 23, 24, 28 and 29.

Edward Scissorhands

Tim Burton, Winona Ryder and Johnny Depp teaming up for one movie. Need I say more? Ryder and Depp got engaged shortly after the film was made, and you can definitely feel the chemistry when you watch. It’s spooky and romantic at the same time.

Edward Scissorhands airs Oct. 21, 23 and 24.

Alice In Wonderland (2010)

Tim Burton makes the must-watch list one more time for this creepy take on the classic Alice in Wonderland. Seriously, the cute cartoons in the Disney version are nothing like these characters. Johnny Depp also makes the list again for his animated performance as the Mad Hatter.

Alice in Wonderland airs Oct. 22 and 23.

Monsters, Inc.

If you’re in the mood for something a little less disturbing and want to revisit a childhood favorite, Disney Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. will air on two nights. We won’t tell if you tear up a little at the end.

Monsters, Inc. airs Oct. 28 and 29.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2

A whole Harry Potter Weekend would’ve been too good to be true. At least the final film of the magical series will be shown. Grab your Hogwarts gear and a butterbeer and make sure you don’t miss the weekend showings.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 airs Oct. 21 and 22.

Hocus Pocus

To save the best for last in this listicle, the three witches will be on the screen plenty of times throughout the 13 nights. And for the first time, Freeform is having a Hocus Pocus marathon and showing the holiday favorite nonstop for 12 hours on Halloween.

Hocus Pocus airs Oct. 19, 20, 22, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31.
