Here's everything we know about the Las Vegas Strip shooting

Sunday night a man fired shots from a hotel room onto a music festival being held outdoors on the Las Vegas Strip.

According to The New York Times, 58 people were killed and at least 515 were wounded. The gunman shot from the 32nd floor of the hotel and into a crowd of about 22,000 people attending the Route 91 Harvest festival.

The shooting occurred around 10:08 p.m. on Sunday, according to The Washington Post. According to eyewitnesses, people were running for cover, trampling others in the process.

Jason Aldean, who was the last performer at the festival, was seen running off stage as the gunfire erupted.

SWAT teams were sent to the hotel, and found the suspect, Stephen Paddock, had killed himself. According to The New York Times, he had 20 rifles with him. The suspected shooter was identified as Paddock, 64, from Mesquite, Nevada. This shooting is the most deadliest in American history, with the Pulse nightclub massacre from 2016 being the second.
