Good morning,

The Obamas recently celebrated 25 years of marriage, but they’re not the only ones celebrating an anniversary.

This week marks the fifth year anniversary of the arrival of everyone’s favorite municipal feline, Pumpkin the Cat. Five years ago, Pumpkin was adopted by the Athens County Board of Elections director and deputy director, and he's  been window watching people on Court Street ever since.

You can celebrate by stopping by the Board of Elections office, 15 S. Court St., to pet Pumpkin or give him a treat. While you’re there, you may also want to register to vote. The registration deadline of October 10 is approaching quickly, so make sure you get things squared away.

The Board of Elections office will be open until 9 p.m. on October 10.
