Ohio alumna Ali Johnstone has been named the new field hockey coach, according to a release by the University on Thursday.
She will be the 11th head coach in program history. Neil Macmillan and the athletic department “parted ways” Nov. 3.
Johnstone played for the Bobcats from 1998 to 2001 and won a Mid-American Conference Championship in 2001. She has the most assists in Ohio history and is fifth all-time in goals.
Johnstone has been on the staff at Northwestern for the past six seasons, including being the associate head coach since 2014.
This is the second stint for Johnstone on the Ohio field hockey coaching staff. She had a two-year stretch in 2009-10, when the team won the MAC Championship in her first year on the staff.
