It’s that time of the year y’all — cuffing season. I hate that I am writing about this, but I guess this is what the people want, so here it goes.
Cuffing season is the phenomena where young people find a partner with an expiration date. Basically, it’s so you can get through the holidays and maybe a bit past spring break without being alone. People are finding partners where it’s understood that it isn’t anything serious, it’s just so you don’t spend this chunk of the year alone. You know, so you can convince your family around the holidays that you aren’t some lonely loser.
And hey, maybe your temporary cuff turns into a legitimate relationship, if it does, good for you but you did the whole dang thing wrong. The point is that it’s temporary. You know? It’s just a lengthened friends-with-benefits kind of deal but you might maybe meet their family. Honestly, it sounds pretty tight if that’s the case.
No feelings, an understood breakup and you get to cash out on some home cooked meals? Count me in. Maybe? I don’t know. If I get emotional validation I’m in. Yeah, that’ll do it.
