In a surprising and unexpected display of unity, North Korea and South Korea will march under one flag at the opening ceremonies in next month's Olympic Games in Pyeongchang County, South Korea.
The flag will show a "unified" Korea, with the entire peninsula on the flag undivided.
The two countries also agreed to field a joint women's ice hockey team. It will be the first time that Korean athletes from both countries will compete on the same team.
North Korea previously offered to send teams to compete, which marks the first time in more than two years that the cross-border road will be open.
With increasing nuclear tensions between the United States, North Korea and South Korea, the Olympic Games could provide an opportunity for talks to start up between the three countries.
The games will take place from Feb. 9 to Feb. 25.
