TV Recap: One doctor was diagnosed with cancer on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes gave fans a scare Thursday when one of the characters was said to have breast cancer.

Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) went to a doctor who was claiming to miraculously heal women with breast cancer, and she and Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) thought he was a fraud. The two said they were husband and wife to get in to see him. During the mammogram, the doctor found a tumor, causing a frenzy.

As soon as they left the doctor’s office, Arizona has April Kepner (Sarah Drew) perform another mammogram and there was nothing. The doctor was doctoring the images to make it seem as if people had cancer. He was then profiting off the people’s diagnosis.

At the end of the episode, Owen went to the office to scare the guy. He pushed him into the patients’ chemotherapy chair and intimidated him. Owen didn’t hurt the man, but scared him until the cops showed up.

Owen was a little testy this episode because people kept asking about his trip to see Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) in Germany. The trip didn’t go well, and he had to take his frustrations out on someone.

The episode also seemed like the beginning of the end for Arizona as Capshaw is set to leave at the end of the season. It would have been hard to see Arizona leave in that fashion. Thank goodness it’s not true.

Some fans reacted to the happenings on Twitter:
