TV Review: The battle between the good and bad broke out on ‘The Good Place’

The plan for the core four on The Good Place seemed clear. Eleanor (Kristen Bell), Chidi (William Jackson Harper), Tahani (Jameela Jamil) and Jason (Manny Jacinto) would all be given a second chance to make it into The Good Place by being good on earth. However, Michael (Ted Danson) quickly realized that they couldn’t do this without each other. Once Michael was able to get the four of them together, things seemed to be falling into place.

That is, until The Bad Place got involved.

Trevor (Adam Scott), the head demon of The Bad Place, discovered that Michael had been meddling in the lives of the core four and decided to take matters into his own hands. Trevor is now posing as one of the subjects of Chidi’s study to break up the group and get all the individuals to start acting bad again. Michael tries to intervene, but realizes that since he brought them together he can’t be the one to keep them together.

“Well I should head back,” Trevor said. “You wanna come with? Oh right, they’ve all seen you already so you can’t show your face to them again so you’re powerless to stop me.”

What Trevor didn’t know was that the group had never seen Janet (D’Arcy Carden).

Janet is sent by Michael to stop Trevor from ruining the group, causing a full on war between the good and the bad. Janet manages to put a slight hold on Trevor’s plan, but he isn’t quick to give up.

The episode concludes with Janet, Michael and Trevor all getting summoned by the Judge (Maya Rudolph). Trevor is pushed into the abyss and Michael and Janet escape to earth, where their future is unknown. Will good conquer evil for the core four?
