Twitter will reportedly remove the 'like' button from app; a Stronger Together rally was held in light of Pittsburgh shooting

The pesky “like” and “retweet” buttons that domineer popularity on Twitter will reportedly just be retweets soon. 

Jack Dorsey, founder of Twitter, explained at an event last week that he would like to get rid of the like feature soon. In fact, he was never a fan of the heart-shaped button. At the WIRED25 Summit, Dorsey also showcased his dislike with the function.

“Is that the right thing? Versus contributing the the public conversation or a healthy conversation? How do we incentivise healthy conversation?” Dorsey said. 

The reported change-up comes just months after Twitter unearthed the bookmarking feature, which allows users to privately save tweets they are fans of. In response to the initial claims by the Telegraph, the Twitter Communications team took to the platform to reply:
