Man wanted for robbery and involuntary manslaughter, considered armed and dangerous

The Athens Police obtained a warrant on Tuesday for the arrest of Michael Allen Russell on charges of robbery and involuntary manslaughter.

Russell is wanted for the homicide death of Charles Duncan Sr., 55, for the shooting at 221 W. Washington St. on Sunday.

Russell, 18, of Pleasanton Road in Athens, should be considered armed and dangerous, and his whereabouts are currently unknown. 

APD asks for the public’s assistance to locate and arrest Russell and anyone with information is encouraged to call APD immediately 740-592-3313. 

Robbery is a second-degree felony and involuntary manslaughter is a 1st degree felony. 

Athens Police will have no further comment on this incident and will defer further questions to the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office.
