City Council: Council members to discuss wages and continue conversation about sewers

City council members will discuss wages and working conditions, medical services land usage and elected officials’ salaries.

The Finance and Personnel Committee will discuss an agreement concerning wages and working conditions. The agreement would be between the mayor, the Athens City Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council and the City of Athens Communication Officers.

The council will also discuss authorizing an emergency medical services land use and lease agreement. The agreement would include Athens and the Athens County Commissioners.

Approved ordinances and changes in the Athens City Code may establish salaries for select elected officials. This will be discussed by the Finance and Personnel Committee.

The discussion on sewers will be continued by the council as a whole. The conversation includes increasing sewer rates to comply with the city codes and allocating sewer services charges to the sewer debt fund.
