We all love a snowy day where we can curl up with our favorite blanket and a mug of hot cocoa while watching all of our favorite Christmas movies.
Every Christmas fanatic’s favorite day — or one of them, at least — has arrived: Freeform’s 25 Days of Christmas schedule is finally here.
Movie watchers will enjoy plenty of Christmas classics, including Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Santa Claus, Home Alone 3 and A Christmas Carol.
Freeform has also incorporated a number of Disney movies into the lineup, including the Toy Story series, Finding Nemo and The Incredibles.
Life-Size 2 will make its network television premiere on Dec. 2 at 9 p.m. Life-Size, a 2000 film, stars Lindsay Lohan as Casey Stuart, a young girl whose mother died. In the movie, Casey finds a magic book which she thinks will help bring her mother back to life. For Christmas, Casey receives an Eve doll, and the effects of the magic book bring Eve to life. Eve, played by Tyra Banks, is excited to finally be human and the two eventually become friends.
Eighteen years later, Life-Size 2 will feature the same characters and actors, but will focus on Grace Manning, the CEO of the toy company that makes Eve dolls. Played by Francia Raisa, Grace cannot handle the pressure of the CEO role.
No Sleep ‘Til Christmas, another television network premiere, will air on Dec. 10 at 9 p.m. The romantic comedy focuses on two characters, Lizzie and Billie. The two, who are both insomniacs, cross paths and find that they can only fall asleep next to each other.
Other Freeform premieres during the month include Pop Up Santa Holiday Special, This Christmas on and A Belle for Christmas.
Missing from this year’s schedule are holiday classics like The Polar Express and Elf, which have both aired during Freeform’s 25 Days of Christmas in previous years. Freeform fans have expressed their disappointment in the exclusion of these movies via comments on Freeform’s website, which displays the full movie schedule.
On the schedule multiple times are The Santa Clause and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. The second movie to the trilogy, The Santa Clause 2, will not be shown on Freeform.
The inclusion of many non-Christmas Disney movies takes away from the overall theme of the 25 Days of Christmas throughout the month. People turn on Freeform during the month of December to get their fill of holiday favorites — not Toy Story.
Although the release of the movie lineup gets everyone pretty excited for the holiday season, I think we can all agree we were looking forward to seeing a few more classics on the list. However, maybe we will find a new favorite from all of the premieres.
