7 shows to binge-watch this winter break

When finals are finished and college students return to the comfort of their own homes, they tend to feel exceptionally bored because there is no work to be done. The weather outside is frightfully cold, so the best way to spend winter break is by binge-watching the best shows on Netflix and Hulu. Here is a list of the most popular shows that will undoubtedly make all of that spare time worth while:

Mad Men

This award-winning TV show is full of action, drama, envy and lust. Watch to see how Don Draper (Jon Hamm) balances his job and his emotions with women. It is also based in the ’60s, so it is interesting to see how morals have changed since then.

Big Mouth

To entertain your inner immature, goofy side, watch this animated Netflix Original. Watch how these middle school kids deal with and react to the effects of puberty and growing up.

Scandal

Former media-consultant to the president Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) opens her own crisis-management firm and hires people with troubled pasts to help her solve crimes. Watch as her affair with President of the United States, Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn), unwinds and affects not only the two of them, but the country as well.

Last Chance U

Whether you enjoy football or not, chances are this Netflix Original will grab your attention. Watch as the citizens of small towns and college football coaches come together to support young men with a dream to take their talents to the next level.

Gilmore Girls

This adorable show displays a mother-daughter relationship in a storybook Connecticut town. You will want to keep watching to see how Lorelai (Lauren Graham) reacts to the reality of her daughter growing up, getting into relationships and leaving for college.

Ugly Betty

This series on Hulu shows the life of aspiring writer Betty Suarez (America Ferrera), who was hired by Bradford Meade (Alan Dale) as his son Daniel (Eric Mabius)’s assistant at a newspaper company solely because the he knew his son would not try to sleep with her.

Greek

As Rusty (Jacob Zachar) enters college, he tries to retire his geeky high school persona to become a frat boy. But his sister, who is a big shot in her sorority, tries to stop him from joining Greek life.
