This week hosts DJ Wilkins and Jayce Rednour invited Ivy Whaley from We are First to talk about her experience being a first-generation college student from Appalachia. They talk about the misconceptions of growing up in Appalachia and the insecurities that come along with being a first-gen student.
The three students value the experience of being a first-gen. There are a lot of they learned from being first-gen that other people may not have pick up on. They feel more prepared for the real world because they make the most out of their college experience by working and making the most of their time.
