The Athens Police Department received a report of rape on Sunday.
A 20-year-old woman reported the incident at about 3 a.m. on Sunday. The incident occurred on the city’s south end by a known subject, according to the APD report.
The matter is under investigation. No further information will be released pending the investigation.
There have been nine reports of sexual assault to APD and the Ohio University Police Department since Jan. 13.
APD has received seven reports — four rape reports, one gross sexual imposition report, one sexual imposition report and one sexual assault report. OUPD has received two reports of rape.
