5 movies to see this April

It’s officially April, which means the rain that’s supposed to bring May flowers is here. That will give movie lovers ample time to sit in a theater or in the comfort of their home to watch new movies. April has a slew of films you’re not going to want to miss, so check out the following movies during the rainy month:

Pet Sematary (April 5)

Yes, it’s another Stephen King adaptation and a remake of a 1989 film, but it will look to spook audiences well before Halloween. The film is about a family who moves to a house where a pet sematary sits. But it’s not your typical cemetery — if you couldn’t tell by its spelling — because everything that’s buried there comes back to life. The film looks a little campy, but that might be the appeal of it.

Unicorn Store (April 5 on Netflix)

Captain Marvel is directing a movie. OK, it’s really Brie Larson, the fabulous woman who plays Captain Marvel, but same thing. And her co-star, Samuel L. Jackson, in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first female-led superhero film is in Unicorn Store as well. When struggling artist Kit (Larson) has to get a grownup job, The Salesman (Jackson) finds a way to give her everything she has ever wanted. This feel-good film will surely be one to watch, and the best part is you can view it from bed.

The Perfect Date (April 12 on Netflix)

Everyone fell in love with Noah Centineo when he played Peter in To All The Boys I Loved Before. While we wait on the sequel to the hit film, fans can watch Centineo in The Perfect Date. Brooks (Centineo) develops an app that allows his peers to customize a date with him, and it’s guaranteed to be perfect every time. The film stars Laura Marano and Riverdale’s Camila Mendes, so it’s obviously going to be the perfect date with Netflix.

The Curse of La Llorona (April 19)

The Curse of La Llorona is for those who want to be scared out of their mind. Based on a Latin American legend, the film follows one family’s quest to deal with La Llorona in their home. They try everything they can to rid the house of supernatural sources, but who knows if it will be enough.

Avengers: Endgame (April 26)

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for: the premiere of Avengers: Endgame. With Captain Marvel’s help, the Avengers will attempt to resurrect their friends and defeat Thanos — all in a snap of time. Too soon? It’s the epic conclusion to Phase Three we’ve all been waiting for, but we have a feeling the franchise will never be the same. Take some tissues because it’s going to be an emotional ride.
