Netflix blocks binge-watching of a show; check out the Athena Cinema's Fall Sustainability Series

Today is Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019. Here’s what you need to know:

Good morning,

The new season of the popular cooking show The Greatest British Baking Show is being released on Netflix a little differently this time around. Opposed to the normal binge-watchable release, one episode of the series is being released each week on the streaming giant. The choice is surprising for the streaming service, as they have “pioneered” binge-watching, according to Business Insider

There are some pros to releasing episodes on a weekly basis. For example, viewers can actively follow along each episode, rather than binge-watching the entire season in one sitting. Nonetheless, the entire season will be bingeable eventually on Netflix.
