The Athens Police Department received a rape report Tuesday from a woman who said she was raped on the north end of Athens.
The subject’s identity is not known, but the woman who reported the incident is 40 years old. The rape happened from about 6:40 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to an APD report.
There is no more information available, and no more information will be released since the matter is under investigation, according to the police report.
This is the first rape report that APD or the Ohio University Police Department has received since Oct. 30.
There have been 13 sexual assaults either in Athens or on campus reported from both departments this semester.
APD has received six rape reports since the start of the semester. It has also received two sexual battery reports and one voyeurism report.
OUPD has received two rape reports, one sexual assault report and one sexual imposition report this semester.
