Graduate Student Senate: Body extends application deadline, discusses budget

Graduate Student Senate clarified details about its upcoming election during its Tuesday meeting due to concerns that some graduate students were unaware of the election.

GSS also clarified when applications are actually due. Senators discussed extending the deadline past its original closing date.

“The application should close at the end of the third week of the spring semester, not Wednesday,” said Kaelyn Ferris, a College of Arts and Sciences student.

GSS approved extending the application deadline to Jan. 31 at 11:59 p.m.

GSS will be holding a networking event at Jackie O’s Jan. 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Ohio University President Duane Nellis will be in attendance for some of the event.

Additionally, the budget was discussed. The current budget is $16,343.68.

The money in the account does not need to be used by the end of the year, Treasurer Michael Senteney said.
