OU plans to open campus in fall, prepares for possible remote start

Ohio University officials are making plans to reopen campus for Fall Semester, but OU will still be prepared if the semester needs to be started remotely.

OU will adjust as new information about the pandemic is available and recognizes the need to be prepared to respond to changes.

University officials are discussing several scenarios to reopen campuses.

“We will be prepared with a full array of courses,” according to a news release.

Faculty members are already working with the Office of Instructional Innovation and University Libraries.

OU has developed working groups to help plan Fall Semester.

There is a public health group focused on testing and quarantine needs and a group focused on personal protective equipment supplies. There is also a student life and experience group as well as an academic policy group.

There is a group focused on bringing employees safely back to campus and a group working on research and lab spaces.
