Zendaya makes Emmy Award history; here’s what happened at Athens City Council

Today is Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020. Here’s what you need to know:

Good morning, 

The ever-iconic Zendaya just made history at the 2020 Emmy Awards.

The 24-year-old star of the hit HBO series, Euphoria, is officially the youngest person to win an Emmy Award for Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

Zendaya snagged the coveted award for her role as Rue, a high school student who struggles with substance abuse and has been in and out of rehab.

In the actress’ acceptance speech, she thanked peers who are “out there doing the work in the streets” and stressed the idea that: “There is hope in the young people.”
