Athens Football: Athens returns home to host Meigs in a conference matchup

Athens had another strong start last Friday but fell apart and could not stop Logan, losing 24-14 on the road. The Bulldogs currently sit 1-5 on the season, with their only win being against Alexander.

For the Bulldogs, they only have a four games left, all of which are conference matchups. If they want any type of chance in the Tri-Valley Conference-Ohio, now is their time to shine. 

Athens is back home Friday to host Meigs, which is currently 2-3 on the season. The game will be important for the Bulldogs to determine where they are as a team for the rest of the season.

News and Notes:

-Athens last played Meigs on Sept. 25, 2020 and won 32-14. 

-Athens is currently fifth out of seven teams in the TVC-Ohio, and Meigs sits a spot ahead at fourth. 

-Junior Landon Wheatley completed 16-of-30 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns against Logan last week.
