Ohio announced Monday that the first game in its Mid-American Conference schedule against Eastern Michigan has been postponed.
The game, originally slated to be played Dec. 28 in The Convo, is subject to rescheduling due to a pause in Eastern Michigan’s program. According to a statement released by Eastern Michigan, its game against Buffalo on Jan. 1 is also being rescheduled.
The postponement is in accordance with the MAC’s updated COVID-19 rescheduling policy. According to a policy update announced on Dec. 23, any game that can’t be played on its scheduled date will be rescheduled if possible. The decision to update the policy was unanimous among the MAC’s athletic directors due to the rise in COVID-19 cases across the nation.
No rescheduled date for the game has been set as of Monday. Due to the postponement, Ohio’s first MAC game is now slated to be against Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on Jan. 1.
