On Tuesday, the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce announced Kristin Miller as its next president.
Miller was selected by the chamber’s Board of Directors. Dani Esperanza currently serves as president, a position she earned in January 2020. Her last day in the role will be Sept. 15. That evening, the chamber will officially introduce Miller as president at the Celebrate Athens Auction and Dinner, according to a news release.
Miller has served as the chamber’s membership coordinator since May. Before she worked as membership coordinator, she worked for the chamber from 2008 to 2012 as an ambassador.
As president, she will ensure the chamber is operating to the best of its ability and fulfilling its 2022-24 strategic plan. Miller will also oversee chamber events and collaborate with those who work for the chamber.
Miller has also worked for the Athens County Convention and Visitors Bureau as its communications manager and digital content manager.
According to the release, Miller and Esperanza are currently working together to prepare for the transition.
