Hockey: Ohio's undefeated season ends with 6-4 loss to Maryville

Ohio sustained its first loss of the season against Maryville Friday. Despite Ohio's best efforts, it couldn't hold off Maryville's offensive surge in the third period and fell 6-4.

Here are all the numbers you need to know from Ohio's loss:

The Bobcats scored three out of their four goals on the power play, with the Saints' 11 penalty minutes giving them ample time to take advantage of the power play. The Saints also scored three of their six goals in the third period. This effort in the game's final moments is what led them to victory.

Ohio racked up twelve penalty minutes, which allowed Maryville to score two goals on the power play. Ohio gained eight penalty minutes in the second period but only allowed two goals from Maryville in that period.

Luc Reeve had two assists and one goal against the Saints. Reeve has been an offensive anchor for the Bobcats, garnering five goals in their last three games.

This is Ohio's first loss of the season. After an impressive six game win streak, it was unable to keep up with Maryville's offensive strategy.

Ohio will meet Maryville Saturday for a rematch.
