Men's Basketball: What to know about Youngstown State

Ohio has found itself in a struggle. One moment it's hanging with ranked programs like Michigan, and the next it is drowning against mid-majors.

Last week, Ohio fell 83-69 at Marshall. It hasn’t fared well on the road so far this season, either. Ohio is 0-4 on the road and it has another road trip on Sunday. 

Here’s what to know before Ohio (4-4, 0-0 Mid-American Conference) heads to Youngstown State:

Series History 

The Bobcats currently lead the all-time series against the Penguins 14-4. The last time the two played in the regular season was Dec. 20, 1993. The Bobcats won 85-42 in The Convo. Current head coach Jeff Boals and Ben Estis’s dad, Chad Estis, were both on the team last time the Penguins and the Bobcats tussled. 

Player to Watch 

A.J. Brown – The freshman has taken off since returning from injury. His minutes have been extended over the past week, and he’s made the most of them. Brown is still adjusting to college ball, but he’ll be up to speed in no time.
