Hockey: Numbers to know from Ohio's 4-2 victory against Calvin

The Bobcats were able to bounce back after Friday night's loss.

After a lack of cohesiveness and offensive production cost Ohio a victory against Calvin on Friday night, it was ready to bounce back on Saturday. The combined efforts of new recruits and a fresh goalie allowed the Bobcats to earn a 4-2 win against the Knights and split the series. Here are the numbers you need to know from the game:

2: Rookie Blake Farrell earned two goals on Saturday night. Farrell’s first two goals with the Bobcats could not have been more helpful, as they are ultimately what gave the Bobcats the edge over the Knights. Any player who can move the puck down the ice and secure a goal is what Ohio needs.

1: Another rookie, Will Cohen, also proved to be an asset to the Bobcats on offense. His one assist for Blake Farrell’s goal got the ball rolling and allowed the Bobcats to gain some scoring traction. Cohen was named the second star of the game and is on track to keep growing in his first season with Ohio. Ohio was also able to hand Calvin its first loss of the season.

30: Garrett Alderman proved himself as a goaltender against Calvin on Saturday. He only played in 4 games last year, but each one ended with an Ohio victory. He can now say the same about his first game this season, with 30 saves and a 93.8 save percentage. Alderman has continuously proven he can show up when the Bobcats are in need.
