Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call from state Route 682 regarding a man knocking on the caller's door.
The caller did not file a report, and the deputies patrolled the area without finding the man who knocked on the door.
Brotherly banter
Deputies from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from Hebbardsville Road regarding a verbal fight between two brothers.
On the scene, both brothers informed the deputies that no physical violence had occurred. The individuals then agreed to spend the day apart from each other, and the deputies found no further actions were required.
Thursday, July 3
Puppy pursuit
The Ohio State Highway Patrol requested assistance from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office regarding a dog found on U.S. 33.
The Athens County Dog Shelter was then alerted and secured the dog.
Party foul
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an excessively loud party in The Plains.
Deputies arrived on site but did not find any excessive noise or other criminal activity.
Friday, July 4
Quit horsing around!
According to a report from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a horse located on the intersection of Fisher and Oxley roads.
The deputies arrived on the scene and located the horse but could not catch it before it galloped into the woods. The deputies notified the owner.
Hit the gas
The Athens County Sheriff's Office received a report from the Rome Township area of a gasoline theft.
The complainant was not sure who took the gasoline but wished to file a report.
Saturday, July 5
Fire explosion
Deputies from the Athens County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an explosion at Texas Eastern Transmission.
Deputies arrived at the scene on Harner Road and spoke with an employee, concluding the incident was an oil fire. The deputies coordinated with the responding fire department units and stayed on scene to clear the area.
Basement thief
The Athens County Sheriff's Office responded to a report on Front Street in Glouster regarding an inactive burglary.
Deputies spoke with the complainant, who stated someone entered their basement and stole multiple items. The Athens County Sheriff's Office referred the case to the Glouster Police Department for further steps.
Sunday, July 6
Generating too much noise
Deputies from the Athens County Sheriff's Office responded to a noise complaint on Oakdale Road in Glouster.
After arriving on site, it was concluded that the noise was coming from a home generator. After being made aware, the homeowner agreed to shut the generator off for the night.
Law(n) order
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a truck and trailer blocking one lane of traffic on Fayette Street in Stewart.
The complainant stated the truck owner was doing lawn care around the area. Deputies arrived on site, but the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.
Monday, July 7
Swimming ATM
Deputies from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Trimble Township after an ATM was located in a creek.
The deputies investigated the incident and found the owner, who informed them that the ATM was not stolen.
It's payday!
The Athens County Sheriff's Office responded to a report on state Route 550 of a dispute.
After arriving on the scene, deputies spoke to the two involved parties and found that they were arguing about rent money. While no criminal offenses took place, both individuals were warned for disorderly conduct.

Deputies from the Athens County Sheriff's Office responded to an incident report on Riverfront Road in Hockingport.
The caller notified the Sheriff’s office that she had gone through a breakup recently. Her former partner was calling her multiple times and appearing at her house unannounced. The man was served with a trespass warning.
Authorization pending
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of the use of a possibly stolen credit card at Cee Dee’s Drive Thru in Chauncey.
The deputies arrived on the scene and began an investigation. The deputies concluded that the individual using the credit card was permitted by the card’s owner.
